Muktinath temple
Muktinath temple is dedicated to the lord of salvation lord vishnu or Chenrezig, as Buddhist call him. The main shrine of muktinath is a pagoda style temple. There is also a Buddhist monastery in the eastern corner of muktinath dedicated to Jwala mai ( Goddess of fire) also known as the Salamebar Dolamebar gompa. Here, shielded by curtains, are the outlets for the natural gas that flows from the rocks and feeds an eternal burning flame.At Muktinath pilgrims bathe under hundred and eight dhunge dhara ( stone waterspouts) in the temple vicinity to wash of sins.
